ABOUT US
Industrial
Computer Systems is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Systems
Integrator (SI) and Software Systems House. ICS originated as
CSS Labs in 1984. It is presently owned and operated in New Jersey by
CompAmerica. Known for longevity and extreme reliability, all
ICS full system products are backed by a 5 Year Warranty. We
build and sell custom hardware, hardware and software, branded turnkey and
OEM Industrial Computer Systems. We integrate industrial PCs, tiny PCs which we fabricate in
the USA &
offshore. We sell rugged laptops manufactured by Panasonic and other
companies. We also supply CompAmerica's Mobil*star laptops,
CompAmerica's "rugged/reliable" pcs, and other kinds of industrial computer systems
and networking / communications. We develop systems for every
environment: Space, Undersea, Hazardous, Extended Duty, Office,
Warehouse, Manufacturing Floor, Dirty, Clean, Warfare, and Long Drop
environments included. We also develop and program turnkey applications for major government and corporate clients.
We use the best
original product subassemblies manufactured to exacting standards. We integrate
the individual products used in the end projects, build and install the networks, and
the application software that makes the projects run.
Such includes TAMs, PLCs, Electronics Assembly, as well. We
are a general member of the Intel Communications Alliance.
ICS is forging new territory in
building one up turnkey computer systems made entirely inside the United States
from, in the majority of cases, USA manufactured components and
software, too. We employ board building, circuit design and in
circuit testing and quality assurance facilities where needed. In many cases
on mainstream products we use high quality sources, instead of just outsourcing to
offshore sources, we design engineer and integrate computer systems to
custom specification from scratch. We
use existing processes we'd evolved over the course of two decades
so that our systems adhere to high standards of
quality, using a combination of house developed technologies, and
backplanes/SBCs made by highly thought of suppliers in our industry.
As a result, we have consistently produced a finer
quality of computer system than available through a combination of
offshore sources
alone, for
those more rigorous industrial computing exercises where better
quality is needed than raw mass manufacture can ever produce: higher
tolerances, more principled operation, longer life, and greater
ruggedness than offshore OEM computers.
EXAMPLES OF OUR TURNKEYS
Clearly, while we produce individual or volumes of fully integrated custom
industrial computer systems, both standalone and clustered server
computers, and controller computers, we also service and maintain them.
And, when it comes to supporting our Branded customers, our
forte is the turnkey system. Our turnkey solution takes on several forms. There
are "self sufficient products" which we make available in OEM White
Box and Branded Format, which incorporate the platform, os,
peripherals and adapters, comm gear, and application software.
Then there are the "Enterprise Reseller Products", which similar to
the SSPs, also include a brand name's own support and documentation
/ asset management requirements.
Then there are the "Turnkey Systems and Network Projects" which can
range from a single Hospital's voice processor, to an entire
Nation's national security port of entry and exit authentication,
watchlist and management system. In between, are the
Militarized and Aerospace Turnkeys, which either end up being
delivered to the Government in quantity or to the Aerospace or
Military products contractors, in volumes that suit their order
requirements.
The following are a few examples.
We
have developed some of the most sophisticated high-headroom
application systems presently found on Industrial Computer
platforms. The purpose for using high reliability and high
availability designed Industrial Computer Systems, is to insure they
last a minimum of 5 years intact, and longer, and to insure that
they can be used every day in day out, without downtime and with a
minimized risk of loss of data. Aside from high end
RAID configurations (ADOBE .PDF) for reliability,
we also support Very Fault Tolerating Architecture (VFTA)
for immeasurable safety in system function.
To date, we've integrated over 150 application systems. Here
are a few examples.
a) MP™. Advanced
Fingerprint processing system for Enterprises. This system can
accept up to 100,000 new employees for screening, manages
enrollment, and other aspects of corporate security. Based on a Dual
Xeon SBC and individual Fingerprint/Handprint Terminals, a more
advance version for Port of Entry and National Security applications
capable of accepting up to 1,000,000 new print-sets per month is
planned using advanced supercomputing technology.
b) DigiTeliverance™.
Digital Television in the 21st Century is going SecureIP-II !!
Our DTS system can interface with any satellite relay system, cable
system and/or high speed internet of at least 440kbps without loss. Using
the latest, powerful Media Control and Digital Rights Content
Management technology from companies like Microsoft Corporation, it
enables TV viewers to connect via Internet or Internet to a globally
sourced supply of Movies, TV Content, Digital Radio and Web Casting,
for error free, no loss, no congestion viewer entertainment.
DigiTeliverance™ is designed to scale modularly and is as
capable delivering DTS-21st Century to an entire nation the size of
the USA as it would be providing for a single Resort Hotel or small
community.
c) Vocallix™.
Digital Switching Technology, Vocallix™ carries voice and data in
the gigibit and above channel marketplace. Supporting up to
255 PBX connections or 255 Cable/DSL connections, a single Vocallix™
switch can record audio and video, store customer inquiries, and
switch simultaneous DSL, CABLE or IP Telephony or Video Telephony
Conferencing in a point A to B or many A to many Bs using a Fibrax™
network that can interconnect, at 255 ports at a time, an array of
Vocallix™ switches adhereing to SS7, ATM, DSL, Cable, POTS and
Digital Mux (23B + D) standards without the burdens of traditional
switching cost. Variations include the Insured Vocallix™, a
system for making audio records as suitable for large Court Systems
as it is for Hospitals, Government Vocallix™ where backup copies of
audio transactions must be retained in storage for future reference,
and Law Enforcement Vocallix™ where audio and video records from
inbound 911, switchboard or remote camera transmitters must be
stored, forwarded and even basic image recognition or audio
recognition of threats or incidents reported.
INTEL
Communications Alliance
In 2004, we joined the Intel Communications Alliance as a general
member.
The Intel® Communications
Alliance is a community of communications and embedded developers
and solutions providers committed to the development of modular,
standards-based solutions based on Intel technologies. For

We have already
delivered one Pentium 4-M based SBC, and are working on delivery of
Pentium-M embedded / 90 nm based low power consumption embedded CPU
technology (story...).
We are on the verge of delivering, and are readying, soon to be
announced SBCs based on Intel's newest advance in 64-Bit Pentium
technology, the LGA-775/PCI-express based Intel P4 5xx/6xx CPUs.
These new 64-Bit SBCs, available soon, will be binary backwards
compatible with all prior P4, Pentium M and Celeron SBCs and thereby
will run the same OS's and applications, retaining our customers'
investment in Software Applications. For more info about embedded P4
computing,

We have added to our product line and begun shipping new Intel
Communications / Network Processor boards for use with various
configurations of systems (story...),
in addition to the many other solutions we offer.
